495091899_582892f0ff.jpgI found this over at this site here.  The man always impressed me with his words and I pray for the upcoming president of the most powerful nation in the world to follow suit.

We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth.

                       John F. Kennedy               October 26th, 1963

I’m all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools.  Let’s start with typewriters.

mccain0508.jpgWar, do we really need it?  Senator John McCain sure likes to think so.  The man doesn’t know who the most powerful nation in the world will be attacking, but he has been overheard singing Bomb Bomb Iran and the party he represents is hell-bent on mass murder in Muslim countries.

“And right now – we’re gonna have a lot of PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] to treat, my friends,” he said. “We’re gonna have a lot of combat wounds that have to do with these terrible explosive IEDs that inflict such severe wounds. And my friends, it’s gonna be tough, we’re gonna have a lot to do.”

Is this a man that even has a hope of being elected?  He avoids the issues that matter most to Americans right now which are the economy and education, instead focusing on his strong suit, foreign affairs.

Q: President Bush has talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years — (cut off by McCain)

McCAIN: Make it a hundred.

Q: Is that … (cut off)

McCAIN: We’ve been in South Korea … we’ve been in Japan for 60 years. We’ve been in South Korea 50 years or so. That would be fine with me. As long as Americans …

Q: [tries to say something]

McCAIN: As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed. That’s fine with me, I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Queada is training and equipping and recruiting and motivating people every single day.

I can’t even fathom a response to that.  What are these people thinking.  I guess the money takes control of not only their morals but our civil liberties as well.  Are American soldiers not being injured, harmed, wounded, and killed on a daily basis.

foundingfathers_sml.jpgWhy do we consistently find oneself in the same problems we faced not only decades, but centuries ago.  Liberties, one word that has always not had meaning, and people think that we are being corralled only in today’s times.  I was checking out quotes from the founding father’s of the country to the south of me, and thought I would share a couple that I found and.

It should therefore be difficult in a republic to declare war; but not to make peace.

Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

Have you something to do to-morrow; do it to-day.

Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard’s Almanack, 1742

They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.
Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies…if the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency…the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of their property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered – THOMAS JEFFERSON

church_and_state_02.jpgJust put this up to feed the masses.  A work in progress and will be complete at some point soon.  I feel that if you have a gift you should share it with the world.  If you have a passion for something, that should shine through even greater.  Plenty can make a difference with their words but choose not to, going the opposite direction.  I need my words to inspire hope in people.  If I can make a difference in one life, then mine is complete.

No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of action and reasoning as fear – Edmund Burke

Where fear is present, wisdom cannot be – Lactantius

We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason – Edward R. Murrow
